We possess a natural subconscious Goal-Achieving-Mechanism that determines and controls everything we do. These are our Inner Forces and they create our feelings and actions and generate our successes or failures, effectively shaping up our destiny. Let's consider some of its functions:
Principle 1) Your subconscious mind gives meaning to everything you observe
Consider this sentence:
"Raednig tihs set of sracbmeld leetrts is psoislbe bceusae yuo hvae tariend yuor Sbuncocsiuos Mnid to raed maennigngflul satetemnets, not jsut leetrts. And yuo'd aegre it deos a vrey good job"
Throughout your life you have trained your subconscious mind to read for meanings, rather than just words, and it now helps you to make sense of this sentence where all letters, other than the first and last in each word, are randomly scrambled. The same process applies to everything you observe; it is your subconscious mind that gives meaning to what you see and consider.
Principle 2) Your subconscious directs your attention. It makes you observe certain things while ignoring others.
Read the sentence below and then count the number of times the letter "f" in contained in it.
"If I could find a way to finish work early, specially finishing the stack of files, I would be off to making a lot of money"
Most likely (like most people) you failed to count all 9 letter fs. This perceptual "error" occurred because your subconscious mind did not need to observe them to make sense of the sentence, so IT MAKES YOU IGNORE THEM.
But think about this! Have you unwittingly also trained your mind to ignore or miss opportunities? Or worse! To focus on and attract difficulties or misfortunes? You may be unwittingly sending the wrong signals into your environment attracting problems rather than opportunities for your goals.
Principle 3) Your subconscious mind achieves the goals that you have, consciously or unwittingly, instructed it to achieve.
Your Subconscious Mind has only one mission in life: to execute your commands
Consider this simple example:
Someone throws a ball at you. You reach out and catch the ball as it flies towards you. You only had an intention: "to catch the ball", but you didn't think about extending your arm, position your body and clench your fist at the moment the ball was reaching you. This was all performed by your subconscious mind, your natural goal achieving mechanism
With your thoughts you are constantly instructing the forces inside you about what to accomplish; the wrong thoughts give instructions to 'achieve problems' whereas appropriate thinking instruct it to work for what you really want.
Principle 4) Your subconscious mind is overwhelmingly more powerful than your willpower or your rational thinking
Observe these pictures:
To your eyes, the image on the left looks like BUMPS, protuberances on the ground.
But we can change them into HOLES in the ground, simply by turning the picture around, as seen on the right
This visual illusion occurs because you have trained your mind to always expect light coming from above. And you are helpless trying to reverse this perception. Your subconscious mind is overwhelmingly stronger than your will or your rational thinking (You cannot reverse this subconscious illusion). Success and life satisfaction are achieved far more effectively by training your subconscious rather than relying on willpower or rationality!
To develop Mind Power you need to understand that the fundamental and ONLY role of your mind is to pursue objectives
Observe this!
What do you think these actions have in common?
| What's in here? | What can I do!! | I just need to relax! |
 |
 |
 |
They are all attempting to achieve specific goals!
You are (your mind is) constantly, consciously or subconsciously, engaged in achieving particular objectives. It is impossible not to be working towards a goal at any time. Your mind only stops this when you die.
The most elementary mind principle is:
Everything we do in life is to have conscious or subconscious intentions to achieve particular objectives. There are very strong evolutionary reasons for this. With our actions we are constantly contributing to advance humankind, our Homo sapiens species, and life pays us with happiness every time we make this contribution. This is life's way to ensure that we continue working towards advancing our species.
Our happiness, prosperity and life satisfaction depend ENTIRELY on how efficient we are at getting what we want! And this depends entirely on our ability to train our natural Subconscious-Achieving-Mechanism.
Your subconscious mind is the big engine inside your brain, a lot larger and far more influential than your conscious thoughts.
Observe the figure below:
The circle that you stare at, which looks stationary, represents your CONSCIOUS mind. The rest of the picture, which you see as moving, represents the bulk of your mind, your SUBCONSCIOUS.
Your subconscious is the great machinery inside your brain that controls all aspects of your life (the moving circles), manufacturing your successes and your failures, depending on how you train it, and you only have access to it through a small "window" - your thoughts, the circle that remains motionless.
